Strange But True

Designed for classrooms, discussion, and daily exploration.

Strange but True is a short-form educational history series designed to show how unexpected, everyday factors have shaped major historical events.

Each episode explores a single moment where ordinary circumstances - such as food, weather, health, technology, or logistics - played a decisive role in outcomes that are often explained through ideology, leadership, or intention. Through concise videos, students are introduced to the practical conditions behind history, not just the headlines.

These videos are not meant to replace traditional historical narratives or reduce complex events to novelty. They are designed to reveal how human decisions are often shaped by survival, constraint, and circumstance.

Educators can use this series to:

  • challenge simplified or myth-based historical explanations
  • introduce the role of environment, resources, and daily life in shaping events
  • support history, social studies, or interdisciplinary lessons
  • encourage critical thinking about cause and effect in history

This series emphasizes context, evidence, and material reality, making it suitable for upper elementary through early high school classrooms.
